Customs Specialist

As a Customs Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the import and export activities of the company, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, and maximizing cost savings. You will also work closely with internal teams and external partners to resolve any customs-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and determine the correct Harmonized System (HS) codes for all products imported and exported by the company
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, including but not limited to import/export documentation, duty rates, and tariff classifications
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customs authorities, brokers, and other relevant stakeholders
• Provide guidance and training to internal teams on customs compliance procedures and regulations
• Conduct regular audits of customs documentation and processes to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement
• Monitor changes to customs regulations and communicate updates to relevant parties
• Negotiate with customs authorities to resolve any issues or disputes that may arise
• Work closely with the logistics team to manage the movement of goods across borders
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies in the customs process

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Science or related field
• Strong understanding of HS codes and customs regulations
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a customs-related role
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Knowledge of import/export documentation and procedures
• Experience working with customs brokers and logistics providers is a plus
• Ability to speak multiple languages is a plus.
