Overview:
One of our client partners is seeking a distinguished academician and a visionary leader to serve as the Director of Engineering Programs. Our client is looking for a high-profile catalyst - a leader with an "entrepreneurial mindset" who will move beyond governance to drive global collaborations, industry-led research, and breakthrough innovations. Reporting directly to the Vice Chancellor, the Director will be the architect of a transformative 5-year roadmap designed to be at the top of national and international ranking tables.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Strategic Leadership & Institutional Eminence
- Conceptualize and execute a 5-year strategic blueprint to elevate the Department's reputation as a world-class center for engineering education.
- Transform the departmental culture from "process-driven" to "performance-led," preempting global education trends and implementing them ahead of the curve.
- Drive growth in student enrollment and spearhead the creation of "Next-Gen" research labs and physical infrastructure.
2. Research, Innovation & Academic Rigor
- Actively mentor faculty to secure high-value external research grants from prestigious bodies such as DST, DBT, ICSSR, and international agencies.
- Oversee the evolution of a CS-heavy curriculum, integrating futuristic domains like AI/ML, Quantum Computing, Blockchain, and Cybersecurity to ensure our graduates are "future-proof."
3. Industry Ecosystem & Global Footprint
- Lead the department in high-impact consultancy projects, positioning the University as a solutions-provider for the technology sector.
- Establish strategic MoUs and dual-degree programs with top global universities for faculty exchange and joint research.
- Deepen relationships with the "Big Tech" industry to facilitate premium placements, sponsored labs, and elite internship opportunities.
4. Quality Assurance & Global Accreditations
- Lead the department through high-stakes accreditation cycles, ensuring gold standards in NAAC (A++), NBA, and NIRF.
- Steering the department toward international benchmarks like ABET.
Requirements:
- PhD in Computer Science is mandatory.
- Minimum 15+ years in academia/research, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (Dean, Director, or HoD).
- Must maintain a "technical touch"- capable of engaging in deep technical discussions despite being a seasoned administrator.
- High-impact publications (Scopus/Web of Science), patents, and a history of securing external research grants.
- Collaborative, data-driven, and capable of fostering an entrepreneurial mindset within the department.
