With a strong foundation in participatory development principles, the organization focuses on advancing holistic rural transformation through agroecology, community-led governance, children's rights, and climate resilience.
As the organization enters a new phase of growth and digital integration, it seeks a Lead Information Technology and Systems to design and implement a robust, community-centric Management Information System (MIS) and Digital Learning Management System (LMS) that can strengthen knowledge management, decision-making, and learning across programs.
Job Purpose
The role will play a central part in digitizing and systematizing data on rural and tribal communities' agriculture, climate-resilient practices, and indigenous knowledge. The ideal candidate will build internal capacity for data-driven decision-making, facilitate cross-regional knowledge exchange, and strengthen the organization's digital infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
A. Technical Leadership and System Development
- Lead the design, development, and rollout of an MIS platform to track community data, program outcomes, and research insights.
- Oversee the creation and deployment of a user-friendly LMS for knowledge exchange and learning among field teams and partner organizations.
- Ensure system interoperability, scalability, and data integrity.
- Manage day-to-day IT support, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
- Maintain IT infrastructure, asset inventories, software licenses, and version control records.
B. Capacity Building and Documentation
- Train internal teams, field staff, and civil society partners in using digital tools and systems.
- Develop user manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and other technical documentation.
- Lead digital literacy initiatives for rural users to enhance adoption and long-term sustainability.
C. Coordination with Vendors and External Agencies
- Oversee and evaluate external consultants or agencies engaged for MIS/LMS development.
- 
Ensure compliance with project specifications, timelines, and data privacy standards. 
D. Strategic Technology Planning
- 
Provide technical inputs to organizational strategies and operational plans. 
- Explore emerging technologies and propose innovative IT solutions to strengthen rural and community development programs.
- 
Stay updated on sector trends and digital data governance requirements. 
Qualifications and Experience
- Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Systems, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining IT systems.
- Proven experience with MIS/LMS platforms and digital capacity-building initiatives.
- Experience in the development or social impact sector is preferred.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong expertise in database management, cloud-based systems, and open-source platforms.
- Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills in English and Hindi.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
