Role Summary

The Director - Training plays a vital role in providing strategic leadership, direction, and oversight for the training domain within the organization.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assesses the needs for training design and implementation by identifying the key processes, simplifying / improving them to build the Citizenship module.

2. Develop group and individual learning courses.

3. Use program training reviews and skills gap analyses to identify training needs per the trainer pool.

4. Guide and assist the Citizenship and Advocacy Team in leveraging training related to programs and partner organizations to positively impact and drive the organization.

5. Oversee learning activities, curriculum and resources.

6. Evaluate the results of learning courses.

7. Implement coaching sessions and mentorship programs to establish a culture of continuous learning.

8. Recommend new training methods (including e-learning courses and game-based platforms).

9. Planning for adequate fund, people, infrastructure and administrative support for the deployment of training across locations.

10. Building internal team capacity on training and processes to follow -

11. Disseminate learnings, best practices, and success stories from the technology domain through various communication channels, including publications, presentations, and workshops.

12. Advocate for policies and initiatives that promote access to technology for marginalized communities at local, national, and international levels.

13. Actively contribute and participate as a member of the management team in various organization-wide initiatives (as needed).

Education and Experience:

MSW, Masters in Learning and Development or relevant field with at least 10-15 years experience in the NGO sector in building and developing training programs.

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

- Demonstrated track record in leading and managing diverse teams.

- Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and advocacy.

- Proficiency in program design, implementation, operations and monitoring.

- Results-focused leadership style with high integrity, empathy and ownership, and excellent interpersonal skills.
