Position Overview

Our partner organisation is seeking a strategic and driven Philanthropy Manager to grow our philanthropic revenue significantly. This role focuses on cultivating strong relationships with High-Net-Worth Individuals (HNWIs) and developing impactful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) partnerships. You will be key in expanding our network of supporters to fund programs that empower women entrepreneurs and increase clean energy access in underserved communities.

We need an experienced fundraiser with excellent communication skills. The candidate should excel at building meaningful, values-aligned relationships and be motivated to achieve ambitious targets. The role has the potential for a global focus, with the current emphasis on the Indian market.

Key Responsibilities

Philanthropy Strategy & Donor Development

  • Develop and implement a philanthropy strategy to maximize revenue from HNWIs, philanthropic foundations, and CSR programs.
  • Cultivate and steward new and existing Indian philanthropic supporters aligned with our partner organisations mission, fostering long-term commitment.
  • Develop tailored engagement plans, compelling support cases, and strong donor proposals to secure significant funding.
  • Lead the development of a robust philanthropic pipeline for India. Collaborate with Board members to leverage their networks and expertise to identify and secure new donor opportunities.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Partnerships

  • Identify and secure CSR partnerships with corporations committed to gender equity, clean energy, and social entrepreneurship.
  • Manage relationship development, proposal submissions, and reporting for corporate partners.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align corporate partnerships with program priorities and brand values.

Donor Stewardship and Reporting

  • Provide excellent stewardship through regular updates, compelling storytelling, and impactful reporting.
  • Maintain accurate donor records and engagement history in a CRM system.
  • Monitor fundraising metrics and provide monthly and quarterly reports to the leadership team.

Collaboration and Communications

  • Work closely with the Communications, Programs, and Finance teams to create compelling content for donor engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Communications team to deliver a strategic webinar series to educate, inspire, and engage current and prospective donors.
  • Contribute to the development of fundraising collateral, presentations, and campaign materials.
  • Represent our partner organisation at virtual and in-person events, conferences, and donor meetings.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, International Development, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification is desirable.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in fundraising and philanthropy within a nonprofit or social enterprise.
  • Demonstrated success in securing significant philanthropic contributions from HNWIs and/or CSR programs.
  • Experience in managing multi-year fundraising initiatives and donor relationships.
  • A track record of meeting fundraising targets, with a minimum of 5 Cr raised in a single fiscal year.

Skills:

  • Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities, including persuasive proposal writing.
  • Proficiency with donor databases, CRM systems, and digital productivity tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Canva, Excel).
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and across time zones in a remote setting.
