About the job Academic Director
This role will be responsible for providing overall academic and institutional leadership to strengthen the Universitys quality, reputation, and long-term growth. The position will focus on strategic direction, academic governance, research advancement, and stakeholder engagement to ensure the institutions competitiveness at national and international levels.
Key Responsibilities

Provide overall academic and institutional leadership to ensure governance effectiveness, academic integrity, and regulatory compliance.

Define and execute the University's long-term strategic plan aligned with academic excellence, research growth, and societal impact.

Lead accreditation, quality assurance, and ranking initiatives including NAAC A+, NBA, NIRF Top 100, QS, THE, and Impact Rankings.

Strengthen academic governance, curriculum design, and interdisciplinary programs in alignment with NEP 2020.

Oversee internal quality assurance systems, outcome-based education, academic audits, and continuous accreditation readiness.

Drive faculty excellence through performance management, mentoring, capacity building, and teaching–learning innovation.

Build and sustain a robust ecosystem for research, consultancy, innovation, and externally funded projects.

Establish and strengthen centres of excellence in emerging and future-focused academic domains.

Foster national and international collaborations for research, mobility, exchanges, and academic partnerships.

Ensure transparent institutional governance, statutory compliance, and effective engagement with regulatory bodies.

Oversee financial planning, resource utilization, and institutional sustainability initiatives.

Lead strategic initiatives related to enrollment growth, infrastructure development, and digital transformation.

Represent the University with accrediting agencies, ranking bodies, government, industry, and academic forums.

Strengthen alumni relations, corporate partnerships, and philanthropic engagement to support long-term growth.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Ph.D. with demonstrated academic credibility and experience in leading higher education institutions.

15+ years of professional experience in higher education, including a minimum of five years in senior leadership positions.

Track record of successfully leading accreditation processes and improving institutional performance across NAAC, NBA, NIRF, and QS/THE frameworks.

Strong capability in institutional strategy, academic oversight, research development, and quality assurance mechanisms.

Sound knowledge of NEP 2020, higher education regulations, and international academic practices.

Proven ability to lead, communicate, and collaborate effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
