About the job COO - Waste Management Services

Our partner organization is looking for a seasoned and entrepreneurial leader to head a high-impact services division that contributes a significant share of overall revenue and profitability.

This role will carry full P&L responsibility and drive growth, operational excellence, and expansion across multiple service lines. The COO will work closely with senior leadership to scale operations, strengthen systems, and deliver high-quality services across geographies.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Financial Leadership

  • Define and execute growth strategy across service lines
  • Own end-to-end P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimisation
  • Drive revenue growth while maintaining strong unit economics

Operations & Expansion

  • Oversee end-to-end service delivery across locations
  • Build and scale operational infrastructure in new geographies
  • Ensure consistent quality and efficiency across projects and sites

Stakeholder Management

  • Build and manage relationships with clients, partners, and external stakeholders
  • Identify new business opportunities and strengthen existing partnerships

Team Leadership & Culture

  • Lead cross-functional teams across multiple locations
  • Build leadership bench strength and enable high-performance teams
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement

Monitoring & Systems Building

  • Establish performance metrics and dashboards to track outcomes
  • Strengthen systems, processes, and tools to improve efficiency and scalability
  • Drive data-informed decision-making across the division

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience

  • 8–12 years of experience in operations, business management, or service delivery roles
  • Strong track record of managing P&L and scaling multi-location operations
  • Experience in fast-growing, execution-heavy environments (e.g., logistics, services, infrastructure, or similar sectors) is preferred

Skills & Mindset

  • Strong operator with a bias for execution and problem-solving
  • Ability to build systems and processes in evolving environments
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with high ownership and adaptability
  • Proven ability to lead diverse teams and manage complexity

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • MBA or relevant postgraduate degree is a plus
