About the Opportunity:

We are supporting a mission-driven international organization working at the intersection of clean energy, sustainable transport, and infrastructure development. The organization is expanding its presence in India and is seeking a Development Officer to support fundraising, grant development, strategic partnerships, and business development activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Grants & Fundraising

  • Identify, research, and track funding opportunities from philanthropic foundations, bilateral agencies, development finance institutions, and climate-focused funders.
  • Lead the development of grant applications, concept notes, expressions of interest, and funding proposals.
  • Support grant management processes, including reporting, compliance, and donor engagement.
  • Build and maintain a knowledge base of relevant funders and funding opportunities within the climate, energy, transport, and infrastructure sectors.
  • Contribute to collaborative funding proposals and research initiatives with external partners.

Business Development & Partnerships

  • Identify and assess partnership opportunities across the transport, infrastructure, energy, and sustainability sectors.
  • Prepare proposals, pitch decks, briefing notes, partnership materials, and other business development collateral.
  • Track and manage partnership pipelines, stakeholder engagement activities, and follow-up actions.
  • Conduct market and stakeholder research to support strategic engagement efforts.
  • Monitor relevant tenders, procurement opportunities, and calls for proposals.

Candidate Profile

Essential Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in grants, fundraising, business development, partnerships, or programme management.
  • Demonstrated experience developing successful grant applications, funding proposals, project proposals, or commercial pitches.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in the climate, clean energy, transport, infrastructure, sustainability, or international development sectors.
  • Familiarity with international donor ecosystems, climate funders, philanthropic foundations, or development finance institutions.
  • Knowledge of funding compliance requirements and regulatory frameworks related to international funding in India.
  • Experience working with international teams and cross-border stakeholders.

Engagement Details

  • Part-time engagement (approximately 2.5–3 days per week) or deliverable-based arrangement.
  • Initial six-month contract with the possibility of extension.
  • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience.
