Role Summary:
The Senior Global Director will bring strategic vision, entrepreneurial drive, and organizational leadership to expand the initiative into a global force in inclusive, climate-smart finance. This is a senior leadership role that will build and manage cross-functional teams across regions and partners, drive capital market transactions and replication across geographies, lead training and market-building efforts, and spearhead partnerships, fundraising, and advocacy. The role is ideal for a visionary leader with deep networks across finance, philanthropy, and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Partnerships & Global Alliances: Develop and execute a global partnership strategy; engage investors, DFIs, corporates, philanthropies, and governments; build trust with policymakers and multilaterals to embed inclusive finance standards into systems.
- Capital Mobilization & Market Growth: Drive a pipeline of inclusive finance transactions across markets; replicate financial instruments and standards across regions; mobilize grants and catalytic capital to scale operations.
- Training & Market Building: Lead global training and certification programs; expand offerings for investors, regulators, and issuers; partner with universities, think tanks, and institutions to mainstream inclusive finance.
- Organizational & Ecosystem Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing, entrepreneurial team; act as Secretariat for governance bodies and advisory groups; ensure inclusive, transparent, and accountable systems.
- Advocacy, Convenings & Thought Leadership: Lead global convenings and flagship forums; curate campaigns positioning inclusive climate finance at the center of global dialogue; publish research, insights, and thought leadership.
Candidate Profile:
- Experience: 15+ years in strategic partnerships, capital markets, fundraising, or senior leadership roles in finance, philanthropy, or development in the Global South.
- Education: Bachelors required; MBA/Masters in Business, Finance, Public Policy, or Development preferred.
- Expertise: Capital mobilization, impact finance, climate/gender initiatives.
- Leadership: Proven ability to build and lead global, cross-functional teams.
- Networks: Strong relationships with DFIs, investors, multilaterals, corporates, and donors.
