Drive Strategic Legal Guidance in a Dynamic Fund Management Environment

We are seeking a highly skilled Legal & Compliance Manager to support our General Counsel in Japan. This role is integral to ensuring smooth legal operations across our business operations, covering various fund activities.

Your Impact

As a key legal advisor, you will:
Provide commercially focused legal counsel to internal teams, including acquisitions, management teams, lending, and fund management.
Draft, review, and negotiate critical business agreements such as NDAs, Joint Venture Agreements, Purchase & Sale Agreements, Service Agreements, Lease Agreements, and MOUs.
Manage external law firms and oversee legal transactions.
Support compliance and risk management initiatives.
Oversee the Internal Audit and Company Secretarial functions.
Ensure Occupational Health & Safety compliance across our portfolio.
Collaborate with headquarters on legal and compliance matters.

What You Bring

Strong ability to assess, analyse, and manage legal and compliance risks in a fast-paced environment.
Proven experience in applying legal expertise to practical commercial scenarios.
Fluency in English (native or near-native) and business-level Japanese proficiency.
Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
A professional, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of legal experience in a law firm or in-house legal role.
Expertise in Japans real estate and funds management laws is a strong advantage.
