A leading international engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Railway Engineer to join their office in Ireland. 

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include:

  • Design of rail geometry and alignment and associated infrastructure for Clients and Contractors
  • Reviewing design work of intermediate and junior engineers
  • Cost estimating and control
  • Training & professional development of junior and intermediate engineers working as part of the group

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Highly competent in Permanent Way and Alignment engineering of multidisciplinary Rail Projects from Concept and Feasibility Schemes through to Detailed Design and Construction Support (including plain alignment, S&C design, enhancements, remodelling, renewals and depots)
  • Good knowledge of line side civils.
  • Proven record in interface management, documentation records, change management and delivery to programme.
  • Strong previous experience
  • Good communication to junior and senior levels and clients.

Desirable Skills and Knowledge:

  • Track record and a passion to lead, mentor, motivate and develop the skills of team members at all grades
  • Experience in undertaking site surveys / site visits and reporting on asset condition.
  • Competent in the production of engineering management control tools and use of technical reporting processes to Senior Management.
  • Track record in achieving deadlines
  • Competent understanding of the safety process and the interfaces between the design and manufacturing and installation.

Qualifications:

  • An appropriate HND, university degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Member of the EI, PWI, or ICE or similar.
  • Chartered or near chartered member of the EI, PWI, or ICE or similar would be an advantage.
