Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Controller of Financial Operations who will own the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. At AssetIntel, we are scaling rapidly in the SaaS space, and this role will be critical in ensuring our financial processes are robust, compliant, and efficient. In this role, you will work directly with the executive team to ensure the company's financial operations are accurate, timely, and aligned with strategic goals. As Controller, you will be responsible for invoicing, revenue recognition, financial reporting, and coordinating with our U.S. CPA firm..

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Manage end-to-end invoicing and accounts receivable processes.
  • Oversee accounts payable, vendor bills, and payment schedules.
  • Review and adjust work done by outside bookkeepers to ensure accuracy.
  • Implement revenue recognition (ASC 606) and maintain deferred revenue schedules.
  • Run the month-end close and prepare financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
  • Maintain subsidiary schedules related to balance sheet accounts (e.g., accruals, prepaid expenses, deferred revenue).
  • Track and report on customer revenue metrics (deferred vs. recognized revenue, renewal schedules, SaaS KPIs).
  • Prepare concise management reports highlighting cash, AR, and deferred revenue.
  • Coordinate with U.S. CPAs for tax filings and compliance needs, including preparation of supporting schedules. While the company is not currently audited, this role will help ensure records are audit-ready as the business grows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A CA (Chartered Accountant) qualification is strongly preferred. CPA (U.S.) is a plus, but not required. Many excellent controllers do not hold these credentials, and we are open to strong candidates with equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, preferably in SaaS or software companies.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and SaaS revenue recognition (ASC 606).
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is essential.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a fully remote setup.
  • Comfortable collaborating with teams in both India and the U.S.

Benefits and Perks

  • Work remotely from anywhere in India.
  • Market-competitive total compensation package.
  • Generous vacation policy.
  • Company-paid medical coverage.
  • Plenty of opportunities for growth, working directly with U.S. leadership on mission-critical finance operations.
