RESPONSIBILITIES


Programme Leadership & Curriculum

  • Lead the design and implementation of the Early Years curriculum
  • Ensure alignment with progressive philosophies (Reggio
  • Emilia-inspired, inquiry-led learning, project based amongst others)
  • Develop age-appropriate learning outcomes focusing on social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
  • Create a balance between structured learning and free exploration


Learning Environment Design

  • Design and oversee engaging, safe, and stimulating classroom environments
  • Promote learning through play, exploration, and hands-on experiences
  • Curate materials, learning corners, and provocations that encourage curiosity
  • Ensure classrooms reflect children's work, voice, and agency


Teaching & Classroom Practice

  • Actively engage in classroom teaching and model best early years practices
  • Guide educators in storytelling, circle time, sensory play, and experiential learning
  • Ensure developmentally appropriate teaching strategies across all classrooms
  • Build a warm, responsive, and nurturing classroom culture


Teacher Mentoring & Development

  • Recruit, train, and mentor pre-primary educators and support staff
  • Conduct regular observations and provide actionable feedback
  • Lead ongoing professional development in early childhood pedagogy
  • Build a collaborative and reflective teaching culture


Parent & School Engagement

  • Build strong partnerships with parents through regular communication
  • Lead parent orientations, workshops, and academic discussions
  • Address parent concerns with professionalism and empathy
  • Represent the school in academic and community forums


Child Development & Assessment

  • Oversee observation-based and developmental assessment systems
  • Track progress in key developmental domains (language, motor, social-emotional, cognitive)
  • Ensure individualised support for each child's learning journey
  • Guide teachers in documentation and learning stories


Operations & Coordination

  • Oversee daily functioning of the pre-primary programme
  • Manage schedules, staffing, and classroom resources
  • Collaborate with school leadership on expansion and programme development
  • Maintain documentation, policies, and compliance standards
  • Develop and lead enrollment initiatives to support school growth and strengthen admissions pipelines, including Parent-Toddler
  • Programmes, Bridge Programmes, and other outreach activities.


Parent Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with parents as partners in learning
  • Conduct orientations, workshops, and regular progress discussions
  • Guide parents on early childhood development and learning practices at home
  • Address concerns with empathy and professionalism


ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or
    related field
  • Specialized certifications in Early Years education (Montessori / Reggio
    Emilia / EYFS / IB PYP – Early Years) preferred
  • Strong grounding in child development (ages 2–6 years)
  • 5–10 years of experience in Early Childhood Education
  • Minimum 2–4 years in a leadership role (Coordinator / Centre Head / EY
    Lead)
  • Experience in progressive, play-based, or international preschool
    environments
  • Demonstrated experience in setting up or managing early years
    programmes preferred
