About the role mission

The R&D Laboratory Technician is responsible for the timely generation of accurate analytical data for raw material, in-process, finished product and any samples generated by product development activities.

Follows plant policies, procedures, work instructions, and documents (including paper and computer records) to ensure that outbound products conform to company specifications, EU & ISO guidelines.

 

Key responsibilities

·       Development (R&D Laboratory): samples and qualifies for internal analysis required raw materials, in-process and finished samples according to the development brief and the specifications.

·       Testing responsibilities include sensory evaluation, assay testing by UV-VIS and HPLC, PSD, density, percent moisture, color and other physical/analytical methods as needed.

·       Validation (Production lines) in collaboration with QA Representative: collects, prepares and tests required in-process and finished products according to final specifications and routine acceptance criteria.

·       Maintaining, cleaning and calibrating R&D equipment as per Good Laboratory Practices (GLP’s). 

·       Assists in trials, validations and start-ups as required.

·       Troubleshoot and provide support to all the Teams when R&D related requests arise.

·       Present results: write reports, reviews and summaries.

·       Order and maintain DataBase of samples, stock and resources.

·       Follows MSDS’s, plant safety procedures and plant SOP’s to maintain a safe working environment. 

 

 

Qualifications

 

Skills/knowledge:

·       Minimum 2 years experience in chemical-bio-physical laboratory function.

·       Prior experiences in food manufacturer is a plus.

·       Good analytical skills. Prior experiences with HPLC is a plus.

·       Instrument troubleshooting skills is a plus.

·       Excellent written and oral communication skills.

·       Excellent computer skills.

·       Fluent in English.

 

Abilities:

·       Ability to conduct and support scientific investigations and experiments.

·       Plan, set up and undertake controlled experiments and trials.

·       Record and analyse data.

·       Demonstrate procedures.

 

Personal skills:

·       High personal standard of ownership, accountability and proactivity.

Education:

·       University degree in Analytical Chemistry field or equivalent qualification.
