Job Overview

Our client is a leading electric scooter and motorcycle brand, with a Red Dot Award win serving as a guarantee of their quality. Their head office is located in the UK. They are currently expanding their market presence, targeting not only Thailand but also the European market, and are in search of a Head of Design Engineer to join their team.

Responsibilities for Head of Design Engineer.

  • Accountable for all new model and product development in both mechanical and electrical engineering development.
  • Managing all engineering team for new product development and improvement projects.
  • Provide technical support for commercial and after-sale departments.
  • Work with contract manufacturers and suppliers to issues product specification, designs to ensure the product can be developed based on engineering standard and commercial design.
  • Manage all homologation paperwork and certification.
  • Ensure that all vehicle specifications comply with existing legislation in all chosen markets.
  • Ensure that management is fully informed about forthcoming changes in legislation which may impact vehicle type approvals.
  • Plan and execute design projects, setting milestones, tracking progress, and ensuring timely delivery of product development.

Qualifications for Head of Design Engineer.

  • 10 years of experiences in automotive industry for engineering design and development, with a track record of successful project management
  • Bachelors degree in engineering, Industrial Design or related field
  • Knowledge in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering in Automotive Industry.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage design teams, foster innovation, and drive results.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address design challenges and find effective solutions.
  • Project Management: Proven experience in project planning, execution, and monitoring to deliver design projects on time and within budget.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with automotive regulations and standards, EU Homologation, and design testing protocols.
