The Client

Our client is a Thailand's leading Food Production company with 70 years of leading in tapioca starch, vermicelli and noodles products. They are a leader in starch and starch-related food products with a commitment to innovation and operation excellence.

 

Role Summary

The primary responsibility of the Factory Manager will be scheduling building and equipment maintenance as needed, regularly walking the factory floor to monitor the performance of factory staff, and ensuring that all production orders are completed in a timely manner. You should also be able to enforce compliance with health and safety regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.

 

To be successful as a Factory Manager, you should demonstrate outstanding problem-solving skills and resolve any issues that may derail production. Ultimately, a top-performing Factory Manager should have exceptional communication, management, and leadership skills to ensure that factory operations run smoothly.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Regularly reporting to the AVP-Operations regarding pre-production, production and post-production issues, as well as other issues.
  • Managing and leading all manufacturing activities, including production planning, interdepartmental coordination, quality control, procurement, and maintenance.
  • Overseeing the production processes, planning and organizing production schedules and organizing workflow to meet specifications and deadlines.
  • Controlling budgets and exercising control over capital and operating expenditure.
  • Ensuring that production activities are maintained at a high level of productivity and that continuous improvement is sought and a proper preventive maintenance system is established and implemented.
  •  Managing resource and raw material planning.
  • Ensuring that quality and environmental management system requirements are established.
  • Working closely with the Sales/Marketing and R&D teams to ensure good relationships, mutual understanding, and support.
  • Taking the initiative in relation to regular meetings with the R&D to clarify and improve product specifications and quality standards, as well as identifying training needs, and assessing the need for better tools, etc.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Mechanical/Chemical Engineer or a related field.
  • 7-10 Years in the Food Production, starch operational industry.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to set quality standards, and to lead and motivate a team.
  • Computer skills in MS Suite (Outlook, Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Thai native with very good communication and proficiency in English skills, verbal and written.
