Mainframe Developer

ROLE:

The Mainframe Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting mission‑critical mainframe applications using COBOL in a high‑availability insurance environment. The role involves working closely with business and technical stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable solutions, exposing mainframe functionality through APIs and web services, and supporting production systems in an Agile delivery model. The successful candidate will contribute to both ongoing system stability and modernization initiatives by integrating mainframe applications with modern platforms while ensuring performance, security, and regulatory compliance.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• 8+ years Solid Application development experience in Mainframe Environments using COBOL
• Proven work experience of mainframe programming and debugging platforms including COBOL, DB2, JCL, TSO, CICS Webservices and API development using COBOL
• Good understanding on Insurance domain including core business processes and concepts
• Experience in developing or supporting high availability production systems
• Experience in client-facing roles including direct interaction with businesses and technical stakeholders
• Agile way working experience

MUST-HAVE:

• Mainframe Development Experience

NICE-TO-HAVE:

• Insurance Domain Knowledge and Experience or similar regulated industries such as finance
• Experience integrating mainframe applications with modern external applications
• Knowledge of performance tuning and capacity management in mainframe environments
• Exposure to DevOps practices related to Mainframe development
