Data Engineer
About the job Data Engineer
The Role
We're looking for a Business Analyst who builds, not just advises. You'll own the hands-on work of connecting our data infrastructure to the tools our teams actually use, designing BI dashboards, integrating APIs and turning raw data into decisions.
What You'll Do
- Build BI dashboards in Databricks that give teams real-time visibility into customer health, product usage, and revenue metrics
- Design and implement integrations between our data lake and HubSpot CRM via REST APIs
- Write production code in SQL and Python for data pipelines, transformations and automated workflows
- Troubleshoot and optimize existing data flows when things break (because they will)
- Collaborate with CS, Product, and Marketing to translate their questions into quarriable answers
You'll work directly with data from day one. No months of onboarding before you touch real systems.
What You Bring
Must-Have:
- SQL proficiency (complex joins, window functions, CTEs—not just SELECT *)
- Python for data manipulation and scripting (pandas, requests, basic automation)
- Hands-on experience with BI tools (Databricks preferred, or Looker/Tableau/Power BI with willingness to adapt)
- API integration experience—you've connected systems via REST APIs before
- Comfort with ambiguity—startup means building the process, not following one
Nice-to-Have:
- HubSpot or CRM integration experience
- Data pipeline/ETL experience (Airflow, DBT, or equivalent)
- Previous startup or scale-up environment
Why This Role
Build from scratch - Our data stack is real but evolving. You won't inherit someone else's legacy mess. You'll shape how data flows through the company.
High autonomy - We're a small team. You'll own problems end-to-end, not wait for approval chains.
