We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Field Service Engineer to support advanced laser systems across the United States. This role is primarily based on-site in the Detroit area and requires extensive travel to customer locations nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, calibrate, and troubleshoot advanced laser equipment at customer sites

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal system performance

  • Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and software issues

  • Provide both on-site and remote technical support to customers

  • Train customers on system operation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting

  • Prepare detailed service reports and maintain accurate documentation

  • Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with logistics teams

  • Build strong customer relationships and act as a trusted technical advisor

  • Provide feedback to engineering and product teams for continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)

  • 3+ years of experience as a Field Service Engineer (industrial equipment preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of electromechanical systems, CNC controls, servo drives, and high-voltage systems

  • Experience with laser systems (especially fiber lasers) is highly preferred

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

  • Willingness to travel frequently (up to 75%+) across the U.S.

  • Valid driver's license and passport required
