Our client, a leading company in the engineering sector, is currently seeking a Project Manager to oversee turnkey projects based in Angola.
The Project Manager will be fully responsible for the on-site execution of a turnkey project involving the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of equipment, systems, and services for a new airport.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the project execution team, including subcontracted personnel deployed on-site.

  • Manage full project control (scope, timeline, and budget), incorporating project management areas as per PMBOK guidelines.

  • Design, propose, and implement project control procedures.

  • Efficiently manage assigned resources to achieve project objectives.

  • Coordinate all stakeholders (client, inspectors, suppliers, and subcontractors).

  • Lead and participate in the development of operational plans from project inception to completion, including periodic reviews and updates.

  • Prepare and review meeting minutes, reports, change orders, schedules, blueprints, forecasts, presentations, studies, and proposals.

  • Manage the projects financial aspects, primarily using ERP systems (Dynamics 365 Business Central) and spreadsheets for monthly progress reporting.

  • Directly coordinate with procurement, logistics, and HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) departments.

  • Supervise and resolve any on-site issues or challenges.

  • Risk management and mitigation planning.

  • Ensure quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures are implemented and followed.

Requirements

  • University degree in Engineering (preferably Telecommunications, Aeronautical, or Industrial Engineering).

  • Mandatory fluency in Portuguese, Spanish, and English.

  • Previous experience in the airport sector is required.

  • Postgraduate education in Project Management (PMI, PMBOK, or UNE-21.500 methodologies) is highly valued.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project; experience with Business Central is a plus.

  • Minimum of 8 years experience in similar roles managing projects related to engineering, construction, equipment, training, technical assistance services, etc.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, priority-setting, and decision-making skills.

  • Results-oriented with the ability to analyze deviations and propose contingency plans.

  • Previous experience working in Sub-Saharan Africa is highly valued.

  • Ability to manage responsibilities remotely while maintaining close collaboration with headquarters departments.

  • High adaptability to multicultural environments.

Additional Valued Experience

Knowledge and/or experience in the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of the following airport systems and equipment:

  • Landside systems (operational, security, and communications systems)

  • Airside systems (NAVAIDs, TWR Tower control systems)

  • Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) systems

  • Airport infrastructure systems (structured cabling, FO rings, etc.)

  • Baggage Handling Systems (BHS)

  • Other critical systems (power plants, emergency generator groups, etc.)

  • Airport master plans and aeronautical studies
