Job Brief
Our client, a highly respected leader in the Philippine banking industry, is seeking a strategic and results-driven Channel & Customer Segment Manager (AVP) to lead high-impact initiatives across channel optimization, remittance, and deposit product growth. This role is instrumental in driving operational efficiency, deepening customer engagement, and increasing the value of mass market segments through strategic portfolio management.
This role is responsible for designing and executing strategies that reduce reliance on branch transactions by promoting digital migration; grow and modernize the remittance business in a compliant and secure manner; and elevate mass market clients into higher-value segments through targeted deposit and cross-sell initiatives. The ideal candidate brings 8-10 years of solid experience in retail banking, with demonstrated expertise in project implementation, market research, and deposit product portfolio management.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct market and competitor research to inform business strategies and identify emerging opportunities and risks.
Assess existing strategies and recommend enhancements based on customer behavior, market dynamics, and organizational strengths.
Channel Optimization & Digital Migration
- Develop and execute initiatives that encourage customers to shift from over-the-counter (OTC) transactions to digital/self-service channels.
- Analyze internal data to identify key customer behaviors and formulate strategies that reduce cost-to-serve while enhancing experience.
- Lead cross-functional implementation of campaigns and ensure alignment across Marketing, Digital, Product, and Operations teams.
Remittance Strategy Development
- Spearhead the end-to-end strategy for the banks remittance business ensuring growth, operational efficiency, and full compliance with AMLA regulations.
- Introduce and support migration of remittance services to digital platforms, promoting customer convenience and operational security.
- Collaborate with internal units and third-party partners to develop a scalable and competitive remittance model.
Mass Market Segment Upgrading
- Design and lead strategies to transition mass market segments (e.g., payroll, remittance clients) into more profitable tiers through increased product usage and engagement.
- Manage and grow the deposit product portfolio, leveraging top-ups, payroll linkages, and cross-sell initiatives to maximize value per customer.
- Work closely with the Institutional Cross-Sell team to integrate upgrade efforts across business lines.
Requirements
- 8-10 years of experience in retail banking, with a proven track record in any combination of the following:
- Channel strategy and customer migration
- Remittance or payments business management
- Deposit product portfolio growth and customer segmentation
- Strong background in project implementation, market and customer research, and data-driven decision-making
- Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills
- Knowledge of digital banking platforms, AMLA compliance, and mass market engagement strategies
- Proficient in using analytics tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau
