Position Summary
The client is seeking a high-caliber, execution-oriented leader to serve as Director of Enterprise Data & Conversion. This role will lead the most critical data workstream within the company's broader technology transformation.
This is not a traditional reporting management role. It is a business-critical leadership position responsible for delivering three outcomes simultaneously:
- A successful and controlled Brightree conversion
- Reporting continuity before, during, and after go-live
- A clean, governed enterprise data foundation in Snowflake
The organization's strategy requires Snowflake to function as both a conversion engine and the long-term enterprise reporting platform. This role will lead:
- Conformed entity design
- Business rule transformation
- Gold-layer outputs
- Conversion subsets and reconciliation controls
- Data governance to prevent recreation of legacy reporting issues
Why This Role Matters
The success of the Brightree program depends on treating data as a governed enterprise capability—not a secondary reporting function.
Key risks identified in the current strategy include:
- Fragmented reporting logic
- Undefined KPI ownership
- Misaligned accountability across teams
- Weak governance across Silver, Gold, and reconciliation layers
This role directly addresses those risks.
Key Responsibilities
1. Enterprise Data Architecture (Brightree Conversion)
Lead the design and execution of data architecture to transform legacy and active source data into governed, conversion-ready structures.
Responsibilities:
- Own source-to-target mapping standards (entity and field level)
- Define crosswalks, defaulting rules, and transformation logic
- Build conversion-ready Gold outputs and load subsets
- Determine optimal conversion methods (Snowflake-led, SQL, file-based, API-based)
- Ensure all conversion logic is documented, version-controlled, testable, and repeatable
2. Conformed Data Modeling (Snowflake)
Design and implement a future-state data model that supports both conversion and post-go-live operations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the Silver-layer backlog organized by entity (not ad hoc reporting requests)
- Define conformed entities across key domains (e.g., patient, referral, claims, payments)
- Ensure Gold-layer outputs are trusted, reusable, and business-ready
- Enforce separation between governed data logic and one-off reporting
3. Reporting Continuity & Data Governance
Stabilize and govern reporting during the Brightree transition.
Responsibilities:
- Catalog reports, dashboards, extracts, and files across departments
- Drive keep / eliminate / rebuild decisions with stakeholders
- Ensure rebuilt reporting is sourced from governed Gold-layer data
- Support reporting continuity across legacy and Brightree environments
4. Reconciliation & Data Controls
Establish controls to validate data accuracy and build trust in reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Define pre-load validation standards
- Publish control totals, variance reports, and defect tracking
- Ensure traceability between Snowflake outputs and Brightree ingestion
- Build reconciliation models for finance, operations, and executive stakeholders
5. Cross-Functional Leadership
Serve as the central leader across Technology, Finance, Operations, and external partners.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with leadership on prioritization and issue escalation
- Collaborate on upstream data readiness and completeness
- Align with Finance on KPI definitions and revenue logic
- Work with Operations to validate usability of outputs
- Introduce structure, clarity, and accountability across the data workstream
Success Metrics (First 12 Months)
First 90 Days
- Publish an entity-first data and conversion architecture plan
- Establish reporting catalog and governance processes
- Define mapping standards and reconciliation controls
- Organize Silver backlog into prioritized workstreams
- Implement a structured operating cadence
By 6 Months
- Define core entities within the Silver layer
- Deliver trusted Gold outputs for priority reporting and mock conversions
- Document key financial and AR logic with clear lineage
- Reduce report sprawl and replace fragmented logic
By Go-Live Readiness
- Deliver validated conversion outputs
- Demonstrate reconciliation between Snowflake and Brightree
- Ensure readiness of critical reporting
- Establish a durable, governed data foundation
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in database administration (MS SQL Server), including:
