Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Budget Analyst to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, analyzing, and managing budgets, providing insights to support strategic decision-making, and ensuring financial accountability across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Budget Development:
    • Collaborate with department heads to develop annual operating budgets and long-term financial plans.

    • Ensure alignment of budget proposals with organizational goals and objectives.

  • Financial Analysis:
    • Conduct in-depth analysis of financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.

    • Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial analysis.

  • Budget Monitoring:
    • Monitor budget performance against financial goals and objectives.

    • Analyze and report on budget variances, identifying key drivers and proposing corrective actions.

  • Forecasting:
    • Prepare accurate and timely financial forecasts based on historical data and current trends.

    • Assist in developing scenarios for strategic planning and risk management.

  • Budget Communication:
    • Communicate budget guidelines, policies, and procedures to department managers.

    • Provide training and support to ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines.

  • Reporting:
    • Generate and present comprehensive budget reports to senior management.

    • Prepare reports for external stakeholders, as required.

  • Cost-Benefit Analysis:
    • Evaluate the financial impact of proposed initiatives and projects.

    • Conduct cost-benefit analyses to support decision-making processes.

  • Financial Modeling:
    • Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting and forecasting activities.

    • Analyze various scenarios and assess potential financial outcomes.

  • Audit Support:
    • Collaborate with internal and external auditors during the audit process.

    • Provide necessary documentation and explanations related to budgetary matters.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Proven experience as a Budget Analyst or in a similar financial role.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.

  • Proficiency in financial modeling and budgeting software.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Certifications:

  • Professional certifications such as Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) or Certified Budget Analyst (CBA) are a plus.
