STATUS: 28/28 Rotational

Job Purpose

Metering & Instrument Technician (Onshore) is responsible to service, test, and maintain, programmable system and conventional instrument equipment. The job holder performs maintenance, testing, and performance reporting of the domestic gas metering system. He/She is in charge of process control (PCS) and Plant Safety (PSS) systems, as well as all related instrument equipment at PLC. He/She works under functional supervision of the Electrical and Instrument Supervisor based at PLC. He/She is based in Pipeline Center (PLC) with frequent interventions to BV1, BV2, TM1 repeater stations. He/She works together with Yangon Instrument team for the maintenance of all equipment related to the contractual gas sale agreement for DGMS. He/She may be called anytime during off duty on site if the situation dictates (emergency).

Gas Sales: Up to 720 MMSCFD (Export to Thailand & Onshore Domestic Market)

  • 3 Fiscal Metering streams of domestic gas supply
  • ESD/F&G systems and PCS systems and PI systems
  • Field instrumentations at PLC, BV1 and BV2


Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from universities, professional institutes (engineering, computer science).
  • Minimum 5 years experience in similar position, Oil/Gas field exploitation, refinery & chemical plant.
  • Experience in commissioning and start-up (with sound computer knowledge).
  • Control System Maintenance of process and utilities related to oil/gas field onshore/offshore.
  • DCS and ESD/F&G logic system with sound knowledge of data communication/ networking.
  • Computerized maintenance management system.
  • Fiscal metering systems, including gas Chromatograph. Knowledge on gas metering measurement techniques.
  • Good command of both spoken and written English.


Key Accountabilities (Onshore)

  • To guarantee an error free measurement of Domestic gas flow in line with the Gas Sale Agreement.
  • To demonstrate to client (MOGE) the accuracy and repeatability of results of export gas quality and quantity
    measurements.
  • To guarantee a safe and efficient operation of the Pipeline Center by keeping in good working conditions all control and monitoring equipment (E.S.D. & F.G. system included) under his/her good care.
  • To optimize the individual actions in the frame of a proper operation of the installations.
  • To contribute to keep a very good relationship with the others trades to obtain the highest cooperation in the running of the installations, to share his knowledge and experience with colleagues.
  • To ensure permanent updating of his/her skills in order to optimize the conditions of the control and monitoring of the installations with the objective of reducing costs.
  • To check, maintain, and troubleshoot the Process Control System, ESD/F&G system, and Fiscal Metering System with all related instruments.
  • To check telecom equipment status daily basic when telecom technician not available on site.
  • To liaise closely with the telecoms technician to run smoothly & properly the remote control & parameters monitoring.
  • To liaise with IST team and provide technical support for telecom system and PCs during absent of telecom technician at PLC.
    To check and calibrate portable gas detectors and vehicle drive right modules for PLC Vehicles.
  • To follow and assist the intervention of construction/modification team on the installations.
  • To ensure that engineering standards, practices, and methods are adhered to; tools, instrument equipment selected and well used for current and specific jobs.
  • To prepare mismeasurement report, instrument technical reports/ procedures and request for updating whenever it deems necessary.
  • To propose the improvements (modifications) to optimize the OPEX cost, safe practice, and easy operation/
    maintenance.
  • To raise sound proposals concerning amendments of PM plan if needed.
  • To assist EI supervisor to ensure provision of spare parts, materials and tools, to ensure the continuous operations of the plant.
  • To perform quarterly contractual calibration of metering system witness by MOGE and issue the relevant calibration report to Yadana Asset management.
  • Ensure the proper validity of certificates for calibration medium and tools related to the contractual metering
    measurement.
  • To assist EI supervisor for long-term follow-up of the Metering instrument devices for measurement accuracy and
    repeatability and report any deviations to Yadana Asset management.
  • Archive all relevant document and data as per procedures.


Safety, Security, Health and Environment, and Compliance:

  • To take the necessary actions to meet the safe working standard everywhere (not limited to the instrument trade usual practice).
  • To follow and apply Yadana Asset SSHE rules and good practices including permit to work procedures. To dispose properly all the wastes generated by the instrument team. Promotes accurate reporting and feedback, involves, and motivates all personnel on Near-misses safety anomaly and incidents reporting, exemplarities SSHE behavior and compliance.
