About the role
Facilities Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the team understanding, and motivation to achieve against, a clear plan of the set goals and expectations.
The role will ensure they regularly encourage and support the worker to achieve the set goals and provide a safe and productive environment. This will ensure the worker is able to complete work on time, in full, to standard.
Key objectives & responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Execute and communicate weekly and daily work plans based on project schedules.
- Ensure availability of tools, equipment, PPE, and workspace for all team members.
- Monitor team performance, attendance, and compliance with company policies.
- Conduct toolbox talks and enforces HSE protocols and housekeeping standards.
- Support coordination with cross-functional departments (Production, Procurement, HR, Quality).
- Oversee facility maintenance and waste management activities.
- Drive continuous improvement and minimize rework and material waste.
- Support quality compliance through inspections, training, and process adherence.
- Coach and evaluate rank-and-file workers and implement performance improvement plans.
Required Skills / Experience / Attributes:
Essential
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (license preferred)
- At least 2 years supervisory experience in shipbuilding or facility operations
- Strong leadership, planning, and team management skills
- Knowledge of facility maintenance practices and safety standards
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong communication and coordination abilities
Desirable
- Knowledge of manufacturing or shipbuilding processes
- Familiarity with continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives
- Exposure to ISO, HSEQ, or related compliance systems.
