About the role

The role is responsible to provide effective management of Engineering and Technical elements of a project to enable overall project success.

Key objectives & responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Act as central point of liaison for technical discussions, approvals, and issue management between Client, Classification Society, Flag Authority, Marina (Philippines Maritime Authority), and Austal internal departments.
  • Ensure that vessel and systems performance is as per the requirements of the Vessel Specification, Classification Society, Flag authority, and Austal Construction standards.
  • Management of statutory and regulatory bodies; inclusive of conduct of engagement, requirements mapping, costing and execution.
  • Management of the Engineering and technical aspects of Projects.
  • Monitor procurement activities such as equipment order list, material take-off items, and critical services.

Required Skills / Experience / Attributes:

Essential

  • Bachelor' s Degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering
  • Has 5+ years relevant work experience in ship design/ shipbuilding
  • Has minimum of 5 years' experience within Engineering and or Design functions
  • Strong technical skills and the ability to problem solve
  • Experience with Maritime statutory and regulatory bodies

Desirable:

  • Licensed Philippine Naval Architect and Marine Engineer
  • Aluminium shipbuilding experience
  • Experience in ship commissioning activities
  • Exposure to budget and cost management
  • Application of risk management techniques
