About the role

The Learning and Development Supervisor at Austal Philippines does and/or facilitates planning, designing, conducting, and evaluating training programs. This role ensures that training and development initiatives align with regulatory requirements and company standards, processes, and procedures, ultimately supporting the achievement of overall business objectives.

Key objectives & responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee and manage leadership and training programs for Supervisors and Coordinators, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Evaluate training and development metrics to assess program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Support the implementation of training initiatives, including existing AP processes, to foster continuous employee growth.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to the Training Administrators, ensuring smooth execution of all training-related tasks.
  • Collaborate with management to ensure training programs meet business needs and enhance organizational performance.

Required Skills / Experience / Attributes:

Essential

  • Proven experience in training and development facilitation and management.
  • Expertise in conducting training needs assessments, designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs.
  • Exposure to technical/trades environments.
  • Graduate in Engineering Technology, Engineering Degree, or Human Resources.
  • Experience in manufacturing or construction industries.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other industry-standard computer programs.
  • Possess relevant trade certifications.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or experience in Lean Six Sigma methodologies.

Desirable

  • Auditing and inspection skills.
