About the role
The Accuracy Supervisor formulates the project dimensional control plan to the dimensional requirement and technical specification of the class and client requirements. He/she oversees its implementation and ensures vessel structural dimensions are within the acceptable and agreed tolerance(s), ensuring conformance to the minimum requirements.
The role is responsible for liaising and communicating dimensional survey plans, schedules, and status to the responsible and interested parties, including production, project teams, and the quality group.
Key objectives & responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Prepare Project Dimensional Control Plans per project.
- Establish and implement dimensional accuracy procedure and guidelines in maintaining dimensional accuracy in both modular and unit erection and joint-up stage.
- Ensure that all of the identified checkpoints are being carried out as per schedule.
- Ensure all of the reports and other relevant dimensional information are properly documented.
- Monitor and ensure all metrology tools and instruments used for vessel measurement are calibrated and in good working condition.
- Liaise with the concerned person/department to ensure that issue/s or concerns are being resolved accordingly.
- Ensure rectifications performed by Production are verified and validated in accordance with applicable standards, specification, drawing references and Class/Client requirements.
- Ensure that all rectified records are properly documented.
Required Skills / Experience / Attributes:
- Bachelor's degree in civil, Geodetic, Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge and experience on surveying is a must.
- Conversant on new shipbuilding processes and operations, preferably Aluminium shipbuilding.
- Strong data analysis skills.
- Strong familiarity with 2D (AutoCAD) and 3D CAD software.
- Proficient in computer skills including MS Applications.
- Effective communication skills written and spoken.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
