Purpose of the Role:
The Production Supervisor leads and motivates tradesmen to safely deliver high-quality work that meets project plans and standards. This role ensures that work is executed efficiently, on time, and in full alignment with budget, quality, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement daily/weekly task plans aligned with production goals.
- Lead toolbox meetings and ensure compliance with HSE protocols (JSEA, PPE, Permits).
- Monitor labour and material usage, reduce rework, and promote cost-efficient operations.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and customer satisfaction.
- Track team skills and performance and implement coaching and corrective actions as needed.
- Promote accountability, teamwork, and Austal's values across the department.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Graduate of any relevant course or degree. (Trade course is an advantage.)
- At least 3 years' experience in trade-specific shipbuilding.
- Hands-on technical know-how in trade-specific drawing interpretation.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Strong leadership, planning, and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and able to interpret technical drawings.
- Knowledge of occupational health, safety, and first aid (preferred).
