About the job Pipe Fitter
About the role:
Reporting to the Production Supervisor (Piping), the Pipe Fitter is responsible for working within a team to fabricate, assemble, and install piping systems and related equipment across various systems, using both metallic and plastic materials, to achieve minimum production time and maximum quality, while maintaining a positive and motivated team environment.
Required Skills / Experience / Attributes:
Essential
- Relevant trade qualifications or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years' experience in shipbuilding Industry.
- At least high school or technical/vocational school graduate.
- At least 2 years' experience in purge welding (T.I.G) stainless steel and CuNi desirable.
Desirable
- Certificate of completion in pipe fitting apprenticeship program or formal training from a technical or trade school.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications related to piping systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematic drawings / P&ID, Isometric Drawing, Spool Drawing, and specifications related to piping system.
- Knowledge and understanding of various types of pipes, fittings, valves, and other components used in plumbing and piping systems.
- Hands-on experience with cutting, threading, bending, and welding pipes to fit the required specifications.
- Experience in following industry-specific safety regulations and guidelines related to piping installations.
- Strong mathematical skills to accurately measure, calculate dimensions, and plan pipe layouts.
- Ability to analyse and solve problems related to piping systems efficiently.
