About the job HVAC Designer
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The HVAC Designer is responsible to undertake HVAC deliverables (drawings, requisitions, reports, investigations, and trials) for the assigned project/tasks.
The role is to ensure that the HVAC deliverables meet the vessel specification, flag requirement (e.g IMO High Speed Craft Code/other), and the Classification Society requirements, and be fit for its intended purpose. The deliverable needs to be undertaken as per project schedule and budget requirements.
This role requires good coordination and communication (written and verbal) with the design team (AP and AA/AV where applicable), production and other external stakeholders (class/client/Supplier).
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Essential
- B.Eng (Mechanical), Vocational Engineering Course
- Has two (2+) years of relevant work experience preferably in the shipbuilding industry.
- Sound knowledge of design and engineering principles and best practices.
- Proficiency with engineering design programs such as AutoCAD,
- Experience in using MS Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Attentive to detail and critically minded.
Desirable
- Knowledgeable on classification society and Flag rule requirement (DNV/BV & IMO HSC Code ).
- Experience in HAP E20, Pipenet, Solidworks, Plant 3D, SHIPCON, Rhino or any heatload calculation program.
- Has supervisory experience.
