About the job Welding & Compliance Administrator
About the role:
The Welding & Compliance Administrator is responsible for supporting the Piping & Mechanical (P&M) team by ensuring access to calibrated tools, proper documentation, equipment, and facilities required to execute production work in compliance with quality and safety standards.
This role oversees calibration schedules, supports welding-related quality activities, and maintains systems related to welder performance monitoring. The position requires strong coordination and communication with production teams, quality, design, supply chain, and other support departments to ensure consistent execution of welding and compliance activities.
Key objectives & responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Monitor and maintain calibration schedules for all metrology tools and equipment
- Support the execution and documentation of welding audits and inspections
- Maintain records and reporting systems for welder performance and operator audits
- Assist in addressing and closing out calibration or compliance issues
- Coordinate with Production, SCM, and Quality teams to support project readiness
- Ensure adherence to safety, housekeeping, and compliance standards in all activities.
Required Skills / Experience / Attributes:
Essential
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in a relevant field (e.g. Engineering, Industrial Technology)
- At least 2 years of experience in a shipbuilding or industrial manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of calibration and compliance processes
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and documentation tools
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
Desirable
- Technical school graduate or certified in a mechanical/industrial field
- Experience supporting welding or quality inspection teams
- Familiarity with shipyard operations and production workflows
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently under pressure
