About the job Area Coordinator

PURPOSE

The Area Coordinator will ensure the Project Benefits, as defined in the Project Management Plan & Build Sequence Plan, are supported. Under the supervision of the Construction Manager, Area Coordinator ensures work packages of various trades are being executed and completed on time, within the budget and compliant with the quality standards. They do this by effectively leading a team of trades, through the relevant trade supervisors, to deliver high levels of performance in completing a given scope for an area of the vessel.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE


Essential

• Relevant or Aligned Trade Qualification
• Senior First Aid
• Leadership Development
• HSEQ Development
• Demonstrate related technical skills, vessel outfit (pipe, electrical, fabrication, fitout)
• Demonstrate practical Leadership skills; e.g strong interpersonal skills, people management and communication skills
• Strong time management, resource planning and scheduling skills. Demonstrate ability to deliver to deadlines.
• Understanding of organisational policies, business standards, procedures/work instructions and guidelines; including, but not restricted to HSEQ and P&C.
• Able to manage conflict.

Desirable

• Construction/Project Management roles – preferably in ship construction or maintenance.
• Strong construction and technical knowledge of Austal vessels.
• Awareness of cost controls (budget management)
