Cost Accountant

Description:

The individual in this position is responsible for internal reporting, revenue, cost of good sold, inventory and project accounting. Support Controller with analysis of the business and ensure that the financial understanding of their business is continuously improved.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

• 2 – 5 years of experience in cost accounting

• Manufacturing experience (preferably automotive)
• Working knowledge of J-SOX or U.S. Sarbanes Oxley
• Technical skills in account reconciliation, cost analysis and month-end close responsibilities, etc.
• Planning and organization; an ability to plan and manage multiple projects.
• Strong customer orientation
• Attention to detail
• Problem analysis and problem resolution
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• High performance in teams and a strong team player
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Power Point, SAP or similar ERP software

Responsibilities:

• Supports Monthly close process.

• Enters monthly inventory and COGS.

• Maintains perpetual inventory.

• Generates labor cost and shipments reports for management review.

• Manages standard cost system.

• Conducts Product line analysis for management review.

• Prepares month end balance sheet review and reconciles differences with BM.

• Makes month end standard journal entries.

• Responds to inquiries from management and department head regarding expenses, budges, etc.

• Audits for compliance.

• Other duties as assigned.
