Medical Assistant (Pediatric Cardiology)

Location: Canton, Ga

Pay: $23-24/hr

Hour: 32/hrs a week

A well-established pediatric cardiology practice is seeking a Medical Assistant to support a high-volume clinical team providing care for patients from prenatal stages through young adulthood with congenital and acquired heart conditions.

This role involves direct interaction with patients and families, gathering accurate clinical information, and supporting both administrative and clinical operations to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care delivery.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant training program required (certification preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years of healthcare experience; pediatric or family practice experience preferred
  • Basic medical knowledge and understanding of medical terminology
  • Demonstrated foundational clinical skills
  • Current CPR certification required
  • EMR/Epic experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Outlook)
  • Strong multitasking and prioritization abilities
  • Excellent customer service skills, sound judgment, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong computer, typing, and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and follow-through skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Obtain EKGs, vital signs, and oxygen saturation readings
  • Perform general clinical assessments of patients
  • Review and communicate patient information to physicians or nursing staff, including any abnormal findings
  • Place and manage cardiac monitoring devices (Holter and event monitors) and distribute reports
  • Assist with patient discharge processes as needed
  • Prepare documentation and packets for tests and procedures (labs, cardiac catheterizations, MRI, stress testing, etc.)
  • Maintain inventory of clinical supplies and patient education materials
  • Support basic operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of clinical equipment
  • Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as assigned
