Position:Director of Flight Operations

  1. Purpose of the Position

The Director of Flight Operations is primarily responsible for preparing, executing, and overseeing the flight operations for Commercial Air Transport and Special Operations across all company bases. The role ensures the safety, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency of flights in accordance with international standards and current regulations.

  1. Work Relationships
  • Internal: Close collaboration with pilots, flight program directors, maintenance managers, and the operational security service.
  • External: Coordination with aeronautical authorities, service partners, and subcontractors for NOTAM management and regulatory compliance.
  1. Main Activities
  • Human Resources Management: Recruitment, training, and assessment of pilots. Development of continuous training programs to maintain and enhance pilot skills.
  • Supervision of Flight Operations: Definition and updating of standard operating procedures, drafting and validation of operation manuals (Parts A, B, C, and QRH).
  • Compliance and Safety: Rigorous control of flight operations' compliance with SERA, AirOps, etc. Risk management and proactive participation in the company's Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Communication and Documentation: Management and distribution of internal communications and operational documents, including flight plans and mission folders.
  • Technical Planning: Preparation of special missions in collaboration with designated officials and adaptation of flight programs based on mission requirements.
  1. Responsibilities and Scope of Action
  • Decision-making: Authority to approve flight programs, amendments to operational manuals, and critical decisions regarding safety and compliance.
  • Operational: Full responsibility for implementing flight procedures, organization, and responsiveness to unforeseen events.
  • Strategic: Key contributor to the development of risk management and regulatory compliance strategies.
  1. Specific Professional Knowledge
  • Proficient in international aviation regulations (SERA, AirOps).
  • Advanced skills in flight operations safety management.
  • Substantial experience in aviation operations management and team leadership.
  • Ability to develop complex operational strategies and manage crisis situations.
  1. Human Resources Management
  • Recruitment and Training: Define pilot recruitment needs and develop suitable training programs.
  • Assessment and Development: Assess performance, identify professional development needs for pilots, and implement corresponding actions.
