POSITION OVERVIEW:
The primary role is to provide highly experienced subject matter expertise in high power, high frequency (HF) over-the-horizon transmitter systems. This position requires practical hands- on experience operating, maintaining and modifying operational systems in the field. The incumbent of the position must possess the skills to serve as a liaison representing and advising a US Air Force Program Office for assigned programs and projects that include HF transmitter systems. The incumbent must also have extensive experience working with international partners to support the fielding and sustainment of HF transmitter systems at locations within the US and Outside the Continental US (OCONUS).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This Transmitter SME is responsible for the following
- Primary technical interface representing the Government Program Office working with the designated HF transmitter system Originial Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) at their facility and designated operating locations
- Recognized as SPO technical expert in over-the-horizon HF transmitter systems
- Collaborating with system contractor field service representatives (CFSRs) for tracking subsystem health from week to week and ensuring issues/failures are reported to the system Lead Engineer and applicable engineering Team Lead
- Spearheading the development of corrective actions/fixes with OEM(s) for failures/issues within assigned transmitter subsystems and tracking them to completion
- Leading the collection and analysis of system availability, associated metrics, subsequent root cause determination, deficiency report and corrective action tracking
- Coordinating with program partners and OEMs in the development of required maintenance technical data and training
- Supporting engineering Team Leads assembling applicable configuration control board (CCB) packages
- Supporting the Lead Engineer and Team Lead in the acquisition planning and execution of programs/projects to address obsolescence/diminishing manufacturing sources (DMS) issues
