Key Responsibilities
Strategic SCM Leadership
- Define the overall vision and roadmap for the supply chain and procurement function
- Build and continuously improve a scalable SCM structure aligned with enterprise needs
- Establish clear organizational roles, responsibilities, and reporting lines
- Drive a culture of innovation, value creation, and business partnership within SCM
Category Management
- Develop and implement category strategies aligned with business priorities
- Lead market intelligence and spend analysis to identify optimization opportunities
- Oversee category performance metrics and sourcing pipelines
Sourcing & Procurement
- Design and lead RFP/RFQ processes in coordination with business stakeholders
- Ensure fair, transparent, and timely sourcing in line with internal policies
- Champion digital procurement initiatives and ERP optimization
Governance, Policy & Compliance
- Establish and maintain procurement policies, SOPs, and delegation of authority
- Ensure compliance with legal, financial, and regulatory requirements
- Build and manage procurement control frameworks to ensure audit readiness
- Serve as the internal authority on sourcing ethics and governance adherence
Vendor Management
- Define the vendor lifecycle strategy, from onboarding to performance monitoring
- Ensure risk classification and governance of key and strategic vendors
- Manage vendor escalations, relationships, and long-term capability development
Contract Management
- Negotiate and administer procurement contracts in collaboration with Legal
Financial Oversight & Value Delivery
- Lead commercial evaluations, cost benchmarking, and value-for-money assessmentsDrive measurable cost savings and efficiency improvement targets annually
- Ensure timely PO issuance, accruals, and alignment with budget forecasts
ERP Integration & Digital Enablement
- Oversee integration and enhancement of procurement modules in ERP (e.g., D365 BC)
- Champion automation of procurement workflows, analytics, and dashboards
Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Build a high-performing SCM team through mentorship and professional development
- Define KPIs, monitor team performance, and ensure skill-building across levels
- Drive succession planning and hiring for functional excellence
Person Specifications
- 10 – 15 years of relevant experience in SCM with at least 5 years in leadership roles
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, finance or related field
- Deep knowledge of procurement strategy, governance, ERP systems (esp. D365 BC), and contract management
- Demonstrated ability to align SCM with business strategy, lead teams, and drive transformation
- Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and risk management capabilities
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Strong analytical and commercial acumen
- High attention to detail and process discipline
- Ability to manage multiple categories and priorities
- Stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration
- Excellent time management and ability prioritize work allocated to ensure timely delivery
