Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain data models (customer 360, product, network, usage)
  • Work with data lakes, warehouses, and lakehouses (e.g., Hadoop, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks)
  • Implement data quality checks (deduplication, validation, reconciliation)
  • Enforce data privacy and regulatory compliance (GDPR, PDPA, CCPA, telco-specific regulations)
  • Support metadata management and cataloguing for discoverability and governance
  • Partner with data scientists and analysts to provide clean, reliable data
  • Monitor and tune pipelines for latency and throughput (batch + real-time)
  • Ensure data SLAs (availability, freshness, accuracy) are met
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline issues quickly
  • Evaluate and adopt emerging data technologies (real-time processing, AI-driven data ops)
  • Automate repetitive engineering tasks (deployment, testing, monitoring)
  • Contribute to data platform architecture evolution (cloud migration, microservices, event-driven design)

Person Specifications

  • Respective degrees relating to Business Studies, Engineering or IT
  • Preferred 5 - 10 years working experience as Data engineering, preferably in the telecommunication environment
  • Strong business acumen and technical/solution understanding
  • Certification in CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional) is an added advantage
  • Skilled in handling huge datasets like Call Detail Records (CDRs), and network logs
  • Strong in SQL, NoSQL, and cloud data platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Hadoop)
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
