SENIOR PHYSIOTHERAPIST BAND 6

Job Description:

• Provide a patient-centered specialist physiotherapy service to palliative care patients admitted to the inpatient unit (IPU), attending out-patient services or in the community.
• To undertake comprehensive (holistic & multi-system) assessments and formulate a treatment programme through shared goals with patients and carers, maintaining functional, realistic and measurable (SMART) goals, including risk assessment.
• To work within the Therapies team, consisting of physiotherapists, occupational therapists and complimentary therapists.
• To work closely with other team members and supervise junior members of staff, including the palliative care assistants, therapy assistant, students and volunteers.
• To work independently and as a part of the inter-disciplinary team (IDT), applying clinical skills in physiotherapy, treatment planning, goal setting, intervention and evaluation (use of outcome measures) and includes individual and group orientated approaches.
• Contribute to the evaluation and continued development of the Therapies Service in line with Therapies objectives/ work plan.
