SPECIALTY DOCTOR PSYCHIATRY

Job Description:

• Provision of psychiatric expertise on mental health issues for people with Learning Disabilities, including providing specialist assessments and follow ups in the OPC and DVs, involvement in case discussions, advice, support and training to CTPLD and inpatient service colleagues where appropriate.
• Regular liaison with mental health teams and general psychiatric units for patients who have been admitted to mental health services.
• In conjunction with the other consultants, and junior medical staff respond to the needs of the service, including providing a rapid response to requests for pre-admission assessment (including for assessments under the MHA) when required for both patients from the Enfield catchment area and those referred from other Boroughs and services.
• To provide appropriate referral to other tertiary and specialist services e.g. Forensic Services according to local protocols.
• Participation in Care Quality and Audit program.
• Providing cover for Consultant colleagues as agreed with the Clinical Director and Lead Consultant.
