Job Overview:

Axis Fiduciary Ltd (Axis) is an independent and leading corporate, fiduciary and fund services firm based in Mauritius and UAE, with representative offices in Seychelles and India. Axis is seeking a highly motivated and analytical individual to join our Business Development team as a Business Development Analyst. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting extensive market research and analysis to support Axis business development strategies across its core markets in Africa, the Middle East, and India. The analyst will focus on identifying new market opportunities, developing country and market insights, and targeting potential leads. This role is critical in helping Axis maintain a competitive edge and grow its client base by providing valuable research-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Country Insights:

Conduct thorough research on geopolitical, economic, and regulatory developments in key target countries across Africa, the Middle East, and India.

Provide actionable insights into the investment climate and growth opportunities in each market.

  • Market Dynamics & Trends:

Analyze market dynamics, trends, and growth areas within the financial services industry.

Monitor competitor activities and identify emerging trends that Axis can leverage.

  • Existing Markets:

Consolidate information and provide a full understanding of the current markets where Axis operates.

Track Axis's performance, growth, and market share across these regions.

  • New Market Entry:

Research and analyze potential new markets for Axis to expand its business.

Identify key risks, opportunities, and regulatory considerations in new geographies.

  • Lead Generation & Targeting:

Develop a list of leads, intermediaries, and potential clients in Axis's core, existing, and new markets.

Support in targeting high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) and corporates expanding into Africa or with investment activities in emerging markets.

  • Corporate & HNWI Research:

Identify corporates investing in or expanding their operations in Africa.

Research and map HNWIs across the markets Axis operates in, to identify potential clients.

  • Fund Managers & DFIs:

Identify Indian-based and African fund managers, Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), and their portfolios.

Research Limited Partners (LPs) and General Partners (GPs) with an interest in the African and Indian markets.

  • Investor Targeting:

Conduct research to target investors with investment appetite across Africa, the Middle East, and India.

Develop profiles for investors and track their preferences, investment strategies, and capital flows.

  • Performance Metrics:

Conduct market research to track Axis performance and perception in the markets.

Identify areas for improvement and competitive advantages.

  • Support Business Development Strategy:

Provide data-driven recommendations to support Axis overall business development strategy.

Collaborate with internal teams to drive market entry strategies, client targeting, and business growth initiatives.

  • Stakeholder Reporting:

Prepare reports, presentations, and dashboards for senior management to inform strategic decision-making.

Provide updates on research findings, lead generation efforts, and market insights.

  • Other Responsibilities:

Support the business development team in ad-hoc projects and research needs.

Stay up to date with the latest industry developments, publications, and market news relevant to Axis business model.

Assist in marketing initiatives to enhance Axis presence in key markets.



Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in business, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in market research, financial analysis, or business development.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather, interpret, and present data.
  • Familiarity with markets in Africa, the Middle East, and India is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A strong leader with the proven ability to build strong relationships with relevant parties
  • Highly organized with an independent personality that is effective and working independently and in a team environment
