About the job Architect - Roaming & Signaling
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technology strategy and roadmap for Roaming, Messaging, and Signalling platforms
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable, secure, resilient, and commercially viable solutions.
- Define and govern target architecture, technology standards, engineering practices, and platform governance across the three domains.
- Provide strategic leadership for the design, deployment, transformation, modernisation, and optimisation of Roaming, Messaging, and Signalling platforms.
- Drive platform resilience, capacity planning, security, service quality, and operational excellence, ensuring readiness for future growth.
- Identify opportunities for platform expansion, monetisation, innovation, and new service capabilities to maximise business value.
- Lead technology investment prioritisation, business cases, vendor evaluations, and solution assurance to optimise cost and return on investment.
- Govern major technology initiatives and ensure delivery against business timelines, budgets, quality, regulatory, and governance requirements.
Person Specification
- 10+ years' experience in carrier-grade telecommunications platforms, with strong expertise across Roaming, Messaging, Signalling, VAS, and security.
- Proven hands-on experience with SMS Routing, SMS Firewalls, Roaming Hubs, Signalling platforms, IPX, DCH, and related technologies.
- Strong knowledge of GSM/LTE/5G, SS7/SIGTRAN, Diameter, GTP, CAMEL, SIP, SMPP, and end-to-end network architecture.
- Strong understanding of cloud, virtualisation, CNF/VNF, APIs, Linux/Unix and modern telecommunications technologies.
- Proven experience leading technology implementations, platform transformation, capacity planning, troubleshooting, and operational optimisation.
- Minimum 3 years' leadership experience, with demonstrated leadership across diverse teams, cultures, and geographies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and strategic decision-making skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline; postgraduate qualifications and relevant industry certifications are advantageous.
