About the job ESG Intern

ESG/sustainability is a continuously evolving landscape and sustainability reporting requirements continue to increase globally. Aside from compliance, organizations are facing greater expectations not only from regulatory bodies, but also from different stakeholders: customers, investors, employees, suppliers, lenders, etc.

We are currently looking for interns to support our ConveneESG Software product which aims to support our clients in their sustainability reporting journey from standard compliance to next-level ESG governance. The tasks of an ESG Intern includes ESG disclosure/data mapping, sustainability report writing, tracking of sustainability reporting updates etc.

The successful candidate is expected to have a strong interest in general ESG trends and topics, as well as a keen eye for details on data/disclosure quality.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support needed by the team in creating templates and preparing sustainability reports using applicable local provisions and/or frameworks e.g. Global Reporting Initiatives (GRI), Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), Sustainability Reporting Standard for Social Housing (SRS), et. al.
  • Work on mapping and extraction of qualitative/quantitative data to be used for peer disclosure comparison or benchmarking from relevant documents such as sustainability reports and annual reports
  • Contribute to further development of the product and processes by conducting research and compiling information as needed by the team.
  • Support overall team goals by taking ownership of production targets, delivering required output of high quality, and ensuring that deadlines are met

Qualifications

  • Candidate must be a graduating student e.g. Business, International Development/ Relations, Social Science, Interdisciplinary Studies etc. (a degree in sustainability or any relevant field such as environmental science or international human rights is good to have, but not required)
  • Background on different company disclosures and reporting requirements such as annual and sustainability reports is good to have, but not required
  • Has background or knowledge, and is interested in sustainability/ESG topics
  • Strong written and oral communication skills (English)
  • Excellent research, analytical, and time management skills
  • Results-driven and has the ability to work under pressure and can work on daily/weekly deadlines
  • Self-motivated, works well independently or with a team
