At LKQ Europe, the leading distributor of automotive parts in Europe, innovation is driving the way forward. We're launching a cutting-edge pilot centre for multi-brand high-voltage battery services in Vilvoorde, Brussels and we're looking for a talented Platforms & Software Engineer to help shape it from the ground up.

In this role, youll develop smart, scalable infrastructure that enables diagnostics, repair, and reuse of EV batteries across brands, across systems, and across Europe.

Your impact

This is your chance to combine cloud technology, data architecture, and real-world engineering to build a system that powers the circular battery economy.

You will:

• Design and build a digital repair infrastructure across multiple EV brands.
• Develop a cloud-based platform to store test data, repair history, and guide service processes.
• Connect physical repair equipment with digital tools through seamless data exchange.
• Implement communication with Battery Management Systems (BMS) via CAN Bus, UART, Bluetooth, and more.
• Build intuitive user interfaces for service teams and technicians.
• Investigate failure modes hands-on disassemble, test, fix, and document.
• Identify and integrate the right diagnostic tools and test systems.
• Strengthen safety procedures and ensure traceability throughout the process.
• Collaborate with internal tech, innovation, and commercial teams and with suppliers, OEMs, and battery manufacturers.

Your profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 3 years of experience with cloud platforms, communication protocols, or embedded systems.

• HV-certified or motivated to gain experience in high-voltage environments.
• Analytical, hands-on, and solution-oriented.
• Excited to work in a fail fast, learn fast innovation setting.
• Strong English skills (Dutch or German a plus).
