Welcome to Peace Diagnostic Imaging. We have been offering diagnostic services in the Peace Region for over 25 years.

We are looking for 2 part-time Medical Office Assistants to care for patients in Peace River. This would be a great role for a job share. The work hours can be split between the two staff in a way that works best for them. This will provide suitable coverage and allow for time off without worrying about leaving the office in the hands of a temp.

The main duties will be:

  • Support Radiologists and other Health Care Professionals by performing necessary administrative tasks including but not limited to ordering supplies, clerical duties including faxing, filing, sorting, and distributing mail, arranging janitorial services, and problem-solving as needed.
  • Greet patients on arrival, provide a positive experience and excellent customer service.
  • Maintain correct and up-to-date patient and physician information.
  • Perform appointment bookings
  • Answer patient inquiries.
  • Manage patient referrals scheduling as per protocol.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality regarding illness, treatment, diagnosis.
  • Participate in training/workshops etc., as they become available.
  • Confidentiality, including patient demographics, illness, treatment, and diagnosis, is of utmost importance.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the management and supervisory team and seek ways to help cohesively.

Experience

  • You have a MINIMUM of 2-years of experience in a fast-paced, dynamic customer service environment.
  • Working in a medical office or education in a related field (MOA) is an asset.
  • You can work well independently and as part of a team.
  • You have a goal of exceptional patient care.
  • You can express yourself clearly, concisely, and empathetically.
  • You LIKE talking to people in person and on the phone.
  • You have a positive attitude and exceptional phone etiquette.

Education and Training

  • Certification as a Health Information Office Assistant, Unit Clerk, or Medical Office Assistant
  • Medical Terminology
  • Knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs
  • Previous experience using a patient/diagnostician booking program would be an asset
