Our client, an ultra-luxury 5-star resort ranked among the top ten resorts in the Maldives and renowned for its world-class service and bespoke guest experiences, is seeking a Head Spa Therapist (Spa Trainer).
The Head Spa Therapist (Spa Trainer) is responsible for leading, training, and mentoring the spa therapy team to ensure consistent service excellence, technical precision, and exceptional guest experiences. This role oversees therapist skill development, treatment quality, training programs, and SOP compliance, while also supporting daily spa operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in fostering a positive, motivated, and highly professional team culture.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Spa Trainer, Senior Therapist, or Head Therapist, with mandatory experience in a 5-star luxury hotel or branded resort spa.

Proven track record in training and mentoring therapists, conducting assessments, and maintaining treatment and service standards.

Diploma or Certification in Spa Therapy or Massage Therapy from a recognised institution.

Certified Train the Trainer qualification.

Strong knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology, supported by relevant certification.

Proven certifications across multiple spa modalities, including massage therapies (Swedish, Deep Tissue, Thai, Aromatherapy), body treatments and rituals, skincare treatments and facials, as well as manicure and pedicure.

Knowledge of holistic and wellness-based therapies (e.g. Ayurveda, energy work, sound healing, tuning fork therapy, mindfulness-based treatments).

Knowledge of HIFU treatments and the ability to operate various facial machines.

Experience in pre-opening spas and new treatment rollouts will be considered an added advantage.

Additional certifications in wellness, holistic therapies, or specialised treatments will be considered an advantage.

Basic knowledge of spa operations, hygiene standards, and SOP implementation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and mentor the spa therapy team to consistently deliver exceptional service standards, technical excellence, and memorable guest experiences in line with the resorts luxury positioning.

Design, implement, and continuously improve comprehensive training programs covering treatment techniques, service rituals, product knowledge, hygiene standards, and guest interaction.

Conduct regular skills assessments, evaluations, and refresher training to ensure therapist competency, consistency, and adherence to brand standards and SOPs.

Oversee treatment quality across all spa modalities, ensuring technical accuracy, safety, and alignment with luxury service expectations.

Support pre-opening activities, new treatment launches, and introduction of new wellness concepts, equipment, and technologies.

Ensure strict compliance with spa SOPs, hygiene regulations, health and safety standards, and operational procedures.

Collaborate closely with Spa Management on daily spa operations, scheduling, performance tracking, and continuous service improvement.

Provide hands-on guidance and on-the-floor coaching to support therapists during operations and peak periods.

Act as a role model in professionalism, grooming, communication, and guest engagement at all times.

Maintain accurate training records, assessment reports, and performance documentation.
