Our client, a 5* international luxurious beachfront retreat with a majestic mountain view, is currently seeking a highly motivated Sous Chef (all kitchen disciplines welcome) to join their dynamic culinary team. 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Sous Chef or equivalent role within luxury hospitality environments.
  • Solid background in Western, Asian, or International cuisines (all disciplines welcome).
  • Strong leadership and team supervision skills with the ability to train and inspire junior chefs.
  • Proven ability to manage kitchen operations, inventory, and food safety standards.
  • A culinary degree or professional training from a recognised institution is preferred
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP standards and kitchen hygiene practices
  • Creative, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure in a high-volume, fast-paced setting
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
  • Flexible and willing to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Chef in managing day-to-day kitchen operations across various outlets
  • Supervise and guide kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation
  • Contribute to menu development, recipe standardization, and food costing
  • Ensure the kitchen consistently meets all health, hygiene, and safety requirements
  • Oversee inventory control, ordering, and proper storage of ingredients
  • Monitor and control food waste and portioning to optimize kitchen efficiency
  • Maintain a positive, collaborative, and professional working environment
  • Step in for the Executive Chef as needed and take full responsibility in their absence
