Position: ROV Expert - Inspection and Acceptance Testing

Location: Offshore (Specific location TBD)

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled ROV expert to conduct thorough inspections of our client's ROV system onboard an offshore vessel. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in remotely operated vehicle (ROV) operations, maintenance, and testing procedures. In addition to conducting inspections, the candidate will be responsible for developing an acceptance testing program to ensure the ROV system meets all required specifications and standards.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive inspections of the client's ROV system onboard an offshore vessel.
  2. Assess the condition and performance of ROV equipment, including sensors, thrusters, manipulators, and control systems.
  3. Identify any defects, malfunctions, or areas for improvement in the ROV system and provide recommendations for remedial actions.
  4. Develop and implement an acceptance testing program to verify the functionality and performance of the ROV system.
  5. Define testing procedures, criteria, and performance metrics to evaluate the ROV's capabilities in various operating conditions.
  6. Collaborate with project stakeholders, including clients, engineers, and offshore personnel, to coordinate inspection activities and testing schedules.
  7. Generate detailed reports documenting inspection findings, test results, and recommendations for enhancements or repairs.
  8. Provide technical expertise and support to ensure the successful integration and deployment of the ROV system.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marine Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications in ROV operations and maintenance are preferred.
  2. Minimum of 10 years of experience working with ROV systems in offshore environments, including experience with inspection, testing, and acceptance procedures.
  3. Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting various ROV equipment, such as cameras, sonars, manipulators, and navigation systems.
  4. Strong understanding of underwater surveying techniques, subsea infrastructure, and offshore operations.
  5. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations governing ROV operations, safety, and quality assurance.
  6. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret technical specifications and data.
  7. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
  8. Willingness to travel to offshore locations and work in challenging environments for extended periods.
