Job Purpose

To support the IT department in ensuring smooth daily IT operations, including setting up and maintaining laptops and devices, helping colleagues with basic IT issues, and assisting in other technology-related tasks. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to learn, has a hands-on attitude, and wants to grow in a fast-paced IT environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and set up laptops and other IT equipment for new staff and replacements.

- Provide first-level support for common IT issues (password resets, connectivity problems, printing, basic software use).

- Help install, configure, and update software and operating systems.

- Assist in keeping the IT equipment inventory up to date.

- Support basic troubleshooting of internet/network issues.

- Ensure users are aware of basic IT and cybersecurity practices.

- Provide in-person support during meetings or events that require IT setup (e.g., projectors, video calls).

- Carry out any other IT-related tasks or projects as assigned by the Head of IT.

Required Skills and Attributes

- Basic knowledge of IT systems including Windows and/or macOS.

- Familiarity with basic networking (e.g., connecting to Wi-Fi, LAN cables, VPN use).

- Good attitude willing to help, willing to learn.

- Strong problem-solving approach and willingness to figure things out.

- Friendly and clear communicator, especially when explaining IT matters to non-technical users.

- Organised and responsible careful with equipment and documentation.

- Ability to work under supervision and take initiative when needed.

Preferred Experience (Not Required)

- Internship or part-time work in IT support or similar.

- Experience assembling or setting up personal computers or assisting others informally.

- Exposure to helpdesk ticketing systems or inventory management tools.
